Mr. Richard T. Hume, also known as Rich, serves as Chief Executive Officer & Director of Tech Data Corp. since June 06, 2018. He was the Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Tech Data Corporation from March 24, 2016 until June 06, 2018. Mr. Hume joined Tech Data following a 30-year career with IBM. He served as General Manager and Chief Operating Officer of Global Technology Services at International Business Machines Corporation since January 2015. Mr. Hume served as General Manager of IBM Europe at International Business Machines Corporation from January 2012 to January 2015. He served as General Manager of Business Partner Organization at International Business Machines Corporation from May 2008 to January 2012 and was responsible for leading, which supports IBM's approximately 120,000 Business Partners globally. In January 2010, his channel role was expanded to oversee IBM's midmarket client segment. He joined IBM in 1984, has held a series of leadership positions including General Manager of IBM's x86-based System x server division where he reinvented the System x supply chain to optimize profitability for IBM and its Business Partners. He served as General Manager of Operations, IBM Global Business Solutions, where he managed the global business processes that support sales and delivery of IBM’s consulting services. Prior to these roles, he led a variety of IBM organizations, including its Personal Computing Division in North America and ibm.com globally. He also has extensive experience in IBM's Finance function where he served as the Chief Financial Officer of IBM's PC business, prior to its sale. Over the course of his IBM career, he also led its System X Servers, Global Inside Sales, North American PC business and was Chief Operating Officer for the Global Consulting business. He holds a B.S. in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University and was previously a Certified Public Accountant.
