Robert Marc Bakish (born December 14, 1963) is an American business executive. He has been President and CEO of Viacom since December 2016, having held a variety of executive positions at the company, including a decade of heading international operations, since 1997.
Viacom Inc. (short for Video Audio Communications) is an American global mass media company with interests primarily in, but not limited to, cinema and cable television. As of 2010, it was the world's fourth-largestmedia conglomerate, behind The Walt Disney Company, Time Warner and News Corporation (now 21st Century Fox). Voting control of Viacom is held by National Amusements, Inc., a privately owned theater company controlled in turn by billionaire Sumner Redstone.[4][5][6][7] Redstone also holds, via National Amusements, a controlling stake in CBS Corporation.
