Sanjay Mehrotra is the President and CEO of Micron Technology and co-founder of SanDisk. Mehrotra served as SanDisk President and Chief Executive Officer until it was purchased by Western Digital in 2016.[1][2]

Mehrotra co-founded SanDisk in 1988 and served as President and CEO from 2011 until 2016. He previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, senior vice president of engineering, vice president of product development and director of memory design and product engineering.[3]

He has more than 30 years of experience in the non-volatile semiconductor memory industry, including engineering and management positions at SanDisk, Micron, Integrated Device TechnologySEEQ TechnologyIntel Corporation and Atmel Corporation.[citation needed]

Following the announcement of Mark Durcan's retirement in February 2017, Mehrotra was named chief executive officer.[2] His appointment became effective May 8, 2017, serving as an adviser to the company until early August 2017.[4]

Micron Technology, Inc. is an American multinational corporation based in Boise, Idaho which produces many forms of semiconductor devices, including dynamic random-access memory, flash memory, and solid-state drives. Its consumer products are marketed under the brands Crucial Technology and Lexar. Micron and Intel together created IM Flash Technologies, which produces NAND flash memory. Micron was named one of Thomson Reuters top 100 global innovators in 2012 [2] and 2013.[3] Micron Technology is also ranked among the Top 5 Semiconductor producing companies in the world. As of January 2015, its market capitalization was $32 billion.
