Sanjay Mehrotra is the President and CEO of Micron Technology and co-founder of SanDisk. Mehrotra served as SanDisk President and Chief Executive Officer until it was purchased by Western Digital in 2016.
Mehrotra co-founded SanDisk in 1988 and served as President and CEO from 2011 until 2016. He previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, senior vice president of engineering, vice president of product development and director of memory design and product engineering.
He has more than 30 years of experience in the non-volatile semiconductor memory industry, including engineering and management positions at SanDisk, Micron, Integrated Device Technology, SEEQ Technology, Intel Corporation and Atmel Corporation.
Following the announcement of Mark Durcan's retirement in February 2017, Mehrotra was named chief executive officer. His appointment became effective May 8, 2017, serving as an adviser to the company until early August 2017.

As of January 2015, its market capitalization was $32 billion.
