Mr. Farrell is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion Resources, Inc., one of the nation’s largest producers of energy. He became President and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion Resources, Inc. effective January 2006 and was elected Chairman in April 2007. From January 2004 through December 2005, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Dominion Resources, Inc. and prior to that as Executive Vice President. He is director of Dominion Midstream GP, LLC, and also serves as a director of Dominion Gas Holdings, LLC and Virginia Electric and Power Company, which are wholly-owned subsidiaries of Dominion Resources, Inc. that only issue registered debt. He also serves as a director of Associated Electric Gas Insurance Services Limited, Edison Electric Institute, the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations, Richmond Performing Arts Center L.L.L.P., Richmond 2015, Inc., Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. He previously served on the board of Virginia Commonwealth University.
Mr. Farrell is the Presiding Director and a member of the Compensation, Executive and Nominating, Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility Committees.
Dominion Resources, Inc., commonly referred to as Dominion, is a power and energy company headquartered in Richmond, Virginia that supplies electricity in parts of Virginia and North Carolina and supplies natural gas to parts of West Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and eastern North Carolina.
