Re: Education Officer/Liaison Position in mayor's office
Hi Bill - I am Judy Bozarth, a resident of Atlanta, & freelance writer/editor. I know that Mayor Bottoms is seeking an "education officer" to be a liaison between her office and APS, & I am offering myself for consideration. (Through LinkedIn, I have just sent this same note to Virginia Hepner.)
My 2 grown children are both products of APS. My son, now 37, is an attorney in Chapter 13 bankruptcy; my daughter, almost 30, has an urban planning master's degree from GA Tech & works at the Atlanta Fed in workforce development.
Through their pre-college years I was highly involved in their schools, as a PTA president 5 times, as well as in many other capacities. I was instrumental in effecting various PTA-supported programs, orchestrating outreach to less involved parents, & initiating &/or maintaining communications with & among school staff & administrators, including during some trying times. I'm business savvy & professional with strong public relations skills, & am considered an excellent communicator, both in my paid work, as well as in all the volunteer positions I have held.
Note that I have done paid work for APS (last time was in 2012) & Clayton County Public Schools (last time was in 2015) as a writer/editor.
I'd appreciate the opportunity to chat with you &/or Virginia Hepner about the education officer/liaison position. Thank you very much.
