Mr. Andres Alberto Lopez serves as the Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Owens Illinois Group Inc. Mr. Lopez has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Owens-Illinois, Inc. since January 1, 2016. He served as the Chief Operating Officer and President of Glass Containers at Owens-Illinois, Inc. from February 1, 2015 to December 31, 2015. He has been with the Owens Illinois Group since 1986. Mr. Lopez served as the President of O-I America at Owens-Illinois, Inc. from August 2014 to February 1, 2015. He served as Vice President and President of O-I South America at Owens-Illinois, Inc. from April 21, 2009 to 2014. He has also served as President of O-I’s Latin America operations from 2009 to 2015. He served as a Vice President of O-I's global manufacturing and engineering (GMEC) business unit since 2006 until 2009. In 1999, he served as a General Manager of O-I Peru, he led a successful acquisition and consolidation of that country's glass container business. He began his career with Owens-Illinois as a manufacturing engineer. In 2004, he moved to the Company’s headquarters in Ohio to serve as Vice President of Finance and Administration for the North America region, becoming Vice President of Manufacturing for North America in 2005. Mr. Lopez held a number of other manufacturing assignments before 2005. He has more than 30 years’ experience in the global markets for food, beverage and pharmaceutical packaging. He is a leader with a proven track record and deep global expertise and understanding of customer needs in the packaging industry. He has been an Independent Director of Avery Dennison Corporation since February 1, 2017. In 1996, he moved to Brazil, first serving as Plant Manager for the Rio de Janeiro plant, and then for the São Paulo plant. Mr. Lopez began his career at Owens-Illinois as an Engineer at one of the Colombian plants. Mr. Lopez has been Director of Owens-Illinois, Inc. since May 26, 2016. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Production Engineering from Colombia’s Universidad EAFIT and completed the Executive Education Program at Stanford University. He speaks English and Portuguese.
