Clay C. Williams has been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at National Oilwell Varco Norway AS since June 2, 2014. Mr. Williams has been the Chief Executive Officer of National Oilwell Varco, Inc. since February 2014 and as its President since December 2012. Mr. Williams has been the President of Ameron International Corporation since October 2011. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of National Oilwell Varco, Inc. from December 2012 to April 2014. Mr. Williams served as the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Varco International, Inc. from January 1, 2003 to March 11, 2005 and also its Vice President of Finance and Corporate Development from May 2002 to January 2003. He served as Senior Vice President of National Oilwell Varco Incorporated from March 11, 2005 to February 2009. He served as Vice President of Corporate Development at Varco International, Inc. from February 1997 to February 2000 and again from February 2001 to May 2002. Mr. Williams served as Vice President of Pipeline Services at Varco International Inc. from May 1999 to February 2001 and its Director of Corporate Development from April 1996 to February 1997. He served as Director of Corporate Development of Drexel from March 1996 to April 1996. He served as an Associate of SCF Partners, LP from January 1994 to March 1996 and also served as an Engineer of Shell Oil Company from 1985 to 1992. He held various positions in the energy industry for more than 20 years. He has been the Chairman at National Oilwell Varco, Inc. since June 2, 2014. He has been a Director of National Oilwell Varco, Inc. since November 2013. He has been an Independent Director of Benchmark Electronics Inc., since October 2008. Mr. Williams received a B.S. degree in Civil/Geological Engineering from Princeton University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.
