Dennis Eidson has served on the SpartanNash Board of Directors since 2007 and as Chairman of the Board since June 2016.
In August 2019, the SpartanNash Board of Directors appointed Dennis to the additional roles of Interim President and CEO until the next CEO is identified. He previously served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer from October 2008-May 2017, utilizing his more than 20 years of executive experience in the grocery retail and distribution industry. Dennis also served as SpartanNash’s President (2007-2016), Chief Operating Officer (2007-08) and Executive Vice President of Marketing and Merchandising (2003-07).
Prior to joining SpartanNash, Dennis served as the Divisional President and Chief Executive Officer of A&P’s Midwest Region (2000-02), Executive Vice President of Sales and Merchandising of A&P’s Midwest Region (2000) and Vice President of Merchandising for A&P’s Farmer Jack division (1997-2000).
SpartanNash is an American food distributor and grocery store retailer headquartered in Byron Center, Michigan.[1] In terms of revenue, it is the largest food distributor serving military commissaries and exchanges in the United States.[2] The Company’s core businesses include distributing food to military commissaries, independent grocers, and corporate-owned retail stores in 44 states, Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East. SpartanNash operates 167 retail stores.[3]
