Dave A. Hager, 58, was elected by the board of directors to the position of president and chief executive officer, effective Aug. 1, 2015. His previous roles with the company were chief operating officer and executive vice president of exploration and production. Hager served as a member of Devon’s board of directors from 2007 until 2009, when he joined the company as an employee. From 1999 to 2006, Hager was employed by Kerr-McGee Corp., serving in various capacities, most recently as chief operating officer. Hager has a bachelor of science degree in geophysics from Purdue University and a master's degree in business administration from Southern Methodist University.
David A. Hager, also known as Dave, has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Devon Energy Corporation since July 31, 2015. Mr. Hager served as the Chief Operating Officer from June 2013 July 31, 2015. He served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of DLP GP, L.L.C, a General Partner of Devon Midstream Partners, L.P. He served as an Executive Vice President of Exploration Production at Devon Energy Corporation from joining on March 23, 2009 to June 2013. He served as Chief Operating Officer of Kerr-Mcgee Corporation from July 12, 2005 to August 2006 and its Senior Vice President of Oil and Gas Exploration Production Operations from March 2003 to July 12, 2005. Mr. Hager has more than 29 years of oil and gas exploration and production experience, including an extensive background in planning and executing deepwater exploration and development projects. He served as the Vice President of Exploration and Production of Kerr-McGee Corp. from 2002 to 2003. He served as Vice President of Gulf of Mexico and Worldwide Deepwater Exploration and Production for Kerr-McGee Corp. from 2001 to 2002, Vice President of Worldwide Deepwater Exploration and Production, from October 2000 to 2001, Vice President of International Operations from April 2000 to October 2000 and its Vice President of Gulf of Mexico operations from 1999 to April 2000. Mr. Hager began his career in the oil and gas industry in 1979 as exploration geophysicist with Mobil Oil Corporation. He has joined Sun Oil Co., predecessor of Oryx Energy Company in 1981. He served as Vice President of US Offshore Operations of Oryx Energy Co. since September 4, 1997 and also served as Project Director of New Areas Exploration and Production. From December 1995 to September 1997, he served as Director of Operations Planning of Drilling and Facilities Engineering. He has been a Director of Pride International Inc. since February 25, 2008. He has been Independent Director of Enlink Midstream Manager LLC, Managing Member of EnLink Midstream, LLC since March 7, 2014. He has been an Independent Director of EnLink Midstream GP, LLC since March 7, 2014. He serves on the board of the National Ocean Industries Association. He served as Director of DLP GP, L.L.C, General Partner of Devon Midstream Partners, L.P. He served as a Director of Devon Energy Corporation from 2007 to March 2009. He also completed executive management programs at Duke University and Harvard University. Mr. Hager holds Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysics from Purdue University and Masters Degree in Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
