Donald W. “Don” Slager is Chief Executive Officer of Republic Services, Inc., in the recycling and waste services business.[1] The Company generates $10 billion of annual revenue,[2] has a market cap exceeding $23+ billion[3] and operates the 7th largest vocational fleet in the nation.[4] Don has more than 35 years of experience in the industry, starting his career as a teenager and subsequently working at all levels within the organization. He has served Republic for over 30 years.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and states' Department of Environmental Protection have levied several high-profile fines against it; In 2013 the Missouri Attorney General filed a lawsuit about an uncontrolled underground fire at the Bridgeton Sanitary Landfill, polluting air and water and threatening adjacent West Lake Landfill which contains nuclear waste, scheduled to go to trial.
