Sanjay Mehrotra is co-founder of SanDisk and the company’s President and Chief Executive Officer.[1] He was appointed to this role in January 2011.
Mehrotra co-founded SanDisk in 1988 and has served as president and chief operating officer since June 2006. He previously served as executive vice president and chief operating officer, senior vice president of engineering, vice president of product development and director of memory design and product engineering. He has more than 30 years of experience in the non-volatile semiconductor memory industry, including engineering and management positions at SanDisk, Integrated Device Technology, Inc., SEEQ Technology, Inc., Intel Corporation and Atmel Corporation.[citation needed]
Mehrotra started college at BITS Pilani and then transferred to University of California, Berkeley. Mehrotra was awarded his bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering and computer sciences by Berkeley. He is a 2009 graduate of the Stanford University Graduate School of Businesses' Executive Education Program.[citation needed]
Mehrotra holds more than 70 patents. He has published articles in the area of non-volatile memory design and flash memory systems.[citation needed]
SanDisk Corporation is an American company that designs, develops and manufactures flash memory storage devices and software. SanDisk is the third-largest manufacturer of flash memory in the world.[2] In October 2015 Western Digital agreed to buy SanDisk Corp in a $19 billion deal.[3]
